Group 1 – Heuristic Evaluation
1. Comment: I like that there’s a “home” button to take you directly to the main menu if you need to get back to there.
Heuristic: User control and freedom
Severity: Good
2. Comment: Similar to the previous comment, I like the inclusion of the “back” button as well.
Heuristic: User control and freedom
Comment: Good
3. Comment: The flash card creation having a cancel button is a nice feature.
Heuristic: User control and freedom
Severity: Good
4. Comment: Choosing to delete a deck of flashcards prompts the user to make sure that they want to do that action
Heuristic: Error Prevention
Severity: Good
5. Comment: I like that the selected deck is highlighted when you click on it. Not sure if I like the bright green though. It’s not the easiest to see.
Heuristic: Aesthetic and minimalist design
Severity: Good/Minor
6. Comment: Pressing tab when creating a flashcard indents the line you are typing. I think it would be better if it switched between the two boxes. Not sure if this is possible.
Heuristic: Consistency and standards
Severity: Minor
7. Comment: The letters on the buttons on the home menu make me think pressing the matching key will choose that option.
Heuristic: Flexibility and efficiency of use
Severity: Minor
8. Comment: When flipping through the flashcards I would like an indicator of which one you are currently on, that way you know how many are remaining and if you’ve gotten back to the beginning.
Heuristic: Visibility of system status
Severity: Minor
9. Comment: I think you should rename the “end quiz” button in the “waiting for friend to accept your request screen.” “Cancel request” or something along those lines makes more sense to me.
Heuristic: Consistency and standards
Severity: Minor
10. Comment: In the quiz friends section, I think there should be some way the quizzes are ordered on the left. Either by friend or by deck would make the most sense to me.
Heuristic: Match between system and the real world
Severity: Minor
11. Comment: Adding cards to the deck doesn’t appear to actually add a card.
Heuristic: Functionality/Visibility of system status
Severity: Major
12. Comment: There is no confirmation dialog for deleting friends. Could lead to accidental deletions.
Heuristic: Error Prevention
Severity: Major
