Group 2 – Heuristic Evaluation
1. Comment: The budget filters in the system match what is usually used on sites such as yelp. Makes the filter easy to understand
Heuristic: Consistency and standards
Severity: Good
2. Comment: Choosing the minimum average rating in the filters fits the convention for stars. I like that the stars fill up to show the selected rating.
Heuristic: Consistency and standards.
Severity: Good
3. Comment: The colors on the buttons to reset and apply the filters help indicate which one is for which at a quick glance. Follow standard conventions
Heuristic: Consistency and standards
Severity: Good
4. Comment: I like that the filters have a way to reset them, that way you don’t have to uncheck each one individually.
Heuristic: User control and freedom
Severity: Good
5. Comment: Can see the sorry “no more suggestions :(” text under the result above it
Heuristic
Severity: Cosmetic/Minor
6. Comment: I don’t like the name “apply” for the button on the filters. I feel like it functions more as a “search” or “find things” or something like that. Apply fits with filters, but the whole filter thing seems kind of like a search currently.
Heuristic: Consistency and standards
Severity: Minor
7. Comment: There is no indication that you’re supposed to swipe the items unless you start to drag the result. Maybe have some indicator that you’re supposed to swipe them.
Heuristic: Help and Documentation
Severity: Minor
8. Comment: Swiping on the very edge of the screen opens up the history page. Often times regardless of which side I swiped. Not sure if you wanted the left side to go to filters and the right to history, but I think the buttons at the top should suffice.
Heuristic: Flexibility and efficiency of use
Severity: Minor
9. Comment: There isn’t a way to get your suggestions back after swiping them away besides applying the filter again.
Heuristic: User control and Freedom
Severity: Minor
10. Comment: I think the filters should be sorted alphabetically so that they’re easier to navigate, especially if the final app had more than the prototype.
Heuristic: Match between system and the real world.
Severity: Minor
11. Comment: Rating things in the review section takes a number as an input. The usual convention is to click the amount of stars you want to give the place. I’d say this is a minor thing, since I still easily figured out that I could just put a number there, but I think it should be changed.
Heuristic: Match between system and real world
Severity: Minor
12. Comment: The reviews section isn’t visible from my phone. Dragging one thing makes it show up somewhat, but it overlaps with the thing under it.
Heuristic: Functionality
Severity: Major
13. Comment: Similar to the above issue, the “I’m Going” button is difficult to click, as it is off the screen. I had to drag the item up and then click in order to press it.
